What is BodySoma?

Mood for Motion was founded on a non-traditional approach to movement: BodySoma approach

Our goal is to allow you to be efficient. We propose that living healthily and achieving our fitness and well-being goals are mostly a question of habits and patterns- and that theses habits are mirrored in the quality of our thoughts and daily life. BodySoma focuses on making you healthy movers, efficient movers. If you move healthy in your life, you will have a better posture that will make you able to improve your sport or athletic movement even while working.

The name of BodySoma is simply a way to allow for the freedom to deviate, create and honor the inspiration that we have gleaned from so many sources and continue to find in the everyday.

In each activities, you will find some of the essential pillars of BodySoma:

  • Imagination allows us to reach astonishing results

Body Soma
We trust in physical challenging, proprioception* and kinesthetic awareness*. We have passion for in-depth and functional understanding of the body and how we move.​

*Proprioception: Is often known as a sixth sense. It is the ability of you central nervous system to communicate and coordinate parts of your body with each other.

*Kinesthetic awareness: Ecompasses the body’s abilities to coordinate motion (such as pitching a baseball) and the awareness of where it is in time and space (think dancing).

We trust in the power of a constant dialogue between mind and body, of sensations awarness. Soma means “the body alive”. We have passion for Embodied Life* and so discovering tools that allow us to be more efficient.

And so what?

BodySoma envisions helping to bring awareness principles into any kind of activities.

We use what is called “Somatic Education” theories. The novelty is that you memorise by using your own discoveries. This education acts to inform the “way of doing something”,and so leads you to reach more autonomy and freedom.

In other words, BodySoma wants to bring to everyone the best in multi-modal teaching methodologies, particularly providing kinesthetic* learning.

We trust that, the most people are connected to sensations, to delicate inner movements, the most people are free and able to discover new things, to be more “efficient” using less effort, to meet their originality, to evolve….

It’s feeling alive and tasting the flavour of being different. Never set in stone! It’s teaching how to learn, how to discover new things and even ourselves…
